HALLOWEEN CARDS MADE EASY

As you might be able to guess, I   l-o-v-e  Halloween.  I always send all the children in the family a card so I need a few of them.  lol  After spending lots of time of the ones I posted previously, I was ready for some easier ones.

Here we go.  These two cards were done with those plain wooden cutouts you see at Michael's or JoAnn's.  Purchased last year for 10 cents each.  I colored with markers and added glittery accents with glitter pens.  All that was needed was some appropriate background paper, again bought on sale.  I am guessing that these card only cost around 50 cents or less to make.  Not bad!

Next, I had this package of metal brads.  Here is a house with 3 ghosts (all metal brads).  Add them to some great designer paper and you have it.  Guess I could have added some bling, but I needed to get them in the mail.....going out of state:

The last cards were made using stickers (again on sale last year).  These stickers are soooo cute.  I really love them.  This first one below uses the same designer background paper as above.  Just add a couple of stickers and its as cute as a frog!  LOL

Two more cards using cute stickers.  Add a fun paper.  Super easy and almost no stamping!  Well, I did stamp the sentiments inside, I just forgot to take pictures!

BOO!! It's Halloween Time

October already, and I have hardly make a card in 4 months!!!  What's up with that?  Well, I finally got busy and made some cards for the grandkids and neices and nephews.  Today I will show you the ones that are for my very special grandchildren.

I started off with an idea from my dear friend, Paula.  (Thank you, Paula)  She and I met in Florida, but have lived close to one another in Illinois for a lot of time and didn't know it.  She showed me a card in Cardmaker's magazine that she was making, and I liked it so much that I decided to do it too.  Here is a page from the magazine that shows the directions to make the card:

So I bought the paper suggested and it was on sale.  I also used some dimensional stickers I had purchased after Halloween last year (I will do this again, because I have used these goodies for the last 2 years).   This first one uses pumpkins just like the magazine did.  I added some extra stickers and a Martha spiderweb punch on the "belt" closusre:

The next one, was made using skeletons for my older grandson.  The top image is a sticker that changes when you move it.  The papers were from the suggested paper package.  I cut out the skull and cross bones and put crystal effects over them to give them more dimension.  The bats for the "belt" to hold it closed were from a package of precut glittery shapes that were 12" long (again bought on sale last year):

And the last one was for my only granddaughter, so I used a cute witch (she is pretty young, so I didn't want to scare her).  All of the items I have added to the cards were from things picked up on sale last year:

Here are all four cards (closed) together.  I made 2 with pumpkins.  They really look different even though I used the same layout:

More Quick Halloween Cards

As promised yesterday, I finished the other 3 cards for my grandchildren.  I really like how they turned out and hope you get some ideas.

Here is a ghost and a skeleton.  Just changing the cardstock color and inked background color gives a whole different look.  The ink inside the frame was sponged on to look smokey or hazy.

 

And lastly is the darling little witch for my only granddaughter.  I used purples for this card since the witch came that way. 

Here is one of the card's inside, which has the same embossing folder except with a gray ink rubbed onto it.  Stamp saying and color with marker.

Check out your stash - - - you probably have STUFF that could be added to your cards.  I had lots of stickers as you can see above.  Some glittery gel pens added a little pizzaz.  I'm going to make a few similar cards using up more stickers some neices and a nephew.

NO Stamping Halloween Card for Grandkiddies

Late as usual, but I am finally getting to the Halloween cards for my 4 grandchildren.  I started them a few weeks ago, but got caught up in other things so I am just getting around to working on them again.
I started with a Darice Spider Web embossing folder (1216-73) on cream cardstock.  Then add versamark ink direct to paper around the edges (where the embossing is), then heat emboss with black embossing powder.  It makes the image look old and worn.  I added some distress ink into the center of the frame (this one got a red), and then I used K&Company dimentional stickers of costumed children to put inside my "frame". A couple more stickers of spiders and voila! Its done.  I did another embossed frame for the inside and added a sentiment.  I love how this one turned out and I think my kiddos will too.  What do you think?

2011 Halloween

I will be doing a few more tonight and will upload as soon as I can.  They are really very quick and simple....and I needed that this year!  LOL
