A long time friend's spouse recently passed away and I am not able to attend the services. I remembered creating a background with a Sparkle and Sprinkle stamp way back when I was on their design team, so I got the stamp out and made this card.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-size: large;">First stamp the image on gray CS six times with Versamark and emboss with <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=1153" target="_blank">Black Detail embossing powder</a>. Stamp them one at a time to make it easier to line them up. Punch the edge with punch. Layer onto black card base. Die cut the bird two times, once in black and once in white. Use <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=1954" target="_blank">Dimensional Glue</a> over detail cut lines and apply <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=1341" target="_blank">Sparkling Snow</a> glitter. Pop the bird onto front. Stamp the sentiment and emboss with Black Detail embossing powder. Cut into a rectangle; layer onto black rectangle.</span><br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Inside</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The inside only has the same punch along the edge and the sentiment stamped. I really like this sentiment from Stampin Up</span>.<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Sympathy</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Another card was needed for a different family member and I did not want to send the same card. I punched the edge of the white card base, punched a piece of black CS and layered them. A piece of pattern paper was added to the top. Used the same bird die as above and a different SU sentiment.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Really hoping that you do not need a sympathy card but if you do, perhaps one of these will help.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Thank you for stopping by.</span><br />

Hi! Hope you are enjoying a fantastic crafting day!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today I'm sharing a dry-embossed card on glossy card stock --</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Perfect for a man or a woman! </div>
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdwXgOOuigNqINLQx3x21tqOuphJpmqahj9AI022HNI0qIMAMFkskhe43d3t4ew2zb2kDlhV-1MKHUu4DPgVVOtBWYBZbds-f2TUd1djwpQ5W8ihJ9OtePqjO_NQD4oz54uux4OaUkLcbV/s1600/IMG_1926.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> </a>It's
really a great technique. I only wish the glossiness would show up more
in the photo. The Kaleidacolor multicolor ink is applied in a diagonal manner using a brayer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7Si8sr87z6CbJjx_TmM2qbgfKk5qVRf5BTiKQ-eoqxVghyyBC8tC0yaRMuPS6oFwYEQjbeX7H7cDMI9FrrC5FHH8Q8zkw0CectGyP7934BzzRHec1R39mMz3wda4QFYfveKjNo0dGtSVS/s1600/IMG_1928.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7Si8sr87z6CbJjx_TmM2qbgfKk5qVRf5BTiKQ-eoqxVghyyBC8tC0yaRMuPS6oFwYEQjbeX7H7cDMI9FrrC5FHH8Q8zkw0CectGyP7934BzzRHec1R39mMz3wda4QFYfveKjNo0dGtSVS/s400/IMG_1928.jpg" width="312" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's
a great design technique to highlight a singular portion of the card!
In this case, the yellow streaked ink highlights the pretty flower
embellishment.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8mBoI-cFPzhlXWCVYnSZ1yf0dxdvszTDX45K-j2Q8oly9U18tH_gNgDsw4ldxLKzPsLgpHWlecCk7zp6K0p4ZmEXfkyJEpbdcQAkmDAYbfBnOC68tJ3X64OXROMJ6bhAeBs48vgRqfm2z/s1600/IMG_1927.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8mBoI-cFPzhlXWCVYnSZ1yf0dxdvszTDX45K-j2Q8oly9U18tH_gNgDsw4ldxLKzPsLgpHWlecCk7zp6K0p4ZmEXfkyJEpbdcQAkmDAYbfBnOC68tJ3X64OXROMJ6bhAeBs48vgRqfm2z/s640/IMG_1927.jpg" width="306" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Love the way the ink smears to pop out the white letters!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In the photo below you can see the burlap textured ribbon which has been cut on the right in a banner style finish.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It was my second year hosting the Spring Easter tea for my tea group, and I thought it would be fun to invite YOU, my blogger friends, via the internet to share all the fun (vicariously). I will start off with the invitation.</span><br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXC-L64_gTseO2dN3zv7zKdP55QAxSYrLHLOX4ZBOfSjIw2LK9fU6Y6wgF4aikfUrjERnWgy5D8OqTx_0FaybR1BgP-3SF9IQTspplrD7MCRwCytNV__eJQXxE7ApWV75JolRM4sdH_fdl/s1600/tea+invite+closed+20150508_102819_resized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXC-L64_gTseO2dN3zv7zKdP55QAxSYrLHLOX4ZBOfSjIw2LK9fU6Y6wgF4aikfUrjERnWgy5D8OqTx_0FaybR1BgP-3SF9IQTspplrD7MCRwCytNV__eJQXxE7ApWV75JolRM4sdH_fdl/s400/tea+invite+closed+20150508_102819_resized.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">2015 Tea Invitation</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I had lots of ideas, but as always, I started to run short on time, so I opted for a more simple design. It is a gate fold card on peach CS with a beautiful designer paper layered on top. I die cut this <a href="http://www.scrapyland.com/Poppystamps--Dies--Teapot-Stack-new_p_68278.html" target="_blank">Poppystamp Die Teapot Stack 1157</a> from a teal cardstock. Then I cut it again from silver cardstock. When I removed it from the die machine, I turned it upside down and put a piece of removable tape across all the pieces; then carefully removed the outline of the die (save this piece for a later project). Now take the teal outline and place a piece of tape on the back of it covering all the cutout areas; pick up each silver piece and place it in the proper space in the teal outline. Yes, I know....you are saying this will take time. But BELIEVE me, if you don't keep all the pieces in the proper place, you will have a nightmare on your hands trying to figure out which piece goes where! Just ask me how I know! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Now all you have to do is tape the teapots to the left side and add corner sticker embellishments!</span><br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiH_D5_xjW2-XGwRhl5iuSnWuvehwDdJAucHc3lUHZHhoZ0_ob6iCKdTGceja4ZDVXH_kv5bTBpfrxcLlUQveA-HWrWxwd5zIzqATn7j-Wfk2n0ppFvN5RMAuWCNatCoudnakLIPje8PWT/s1600/tea+invite+open+blur.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiH_D5_xjW2-XGwRhl5iuSnWuvehwDdJAucHc3lUHZHhoZ0_ob6iCKdTGceja4ZDVXH_kv5bTBpfrxcLlUQveA-HWrWxwd5zIzqATn7j-Wfk2n0ppFvN5RMAuWCNatCoudnakLIPje8PWT/s640/tea+invite+open+blur.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">2015 Tea Invite Open</td></tr>

<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">On the inside I stamped a Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp and left it in black outline. I added a hand written reminder to wear a Easter bonnet. The center is a Martha Stewart punch around the page with the information needed pre-printed from the computer.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Unfortunately, this stamp may no longer be offered, but Sparkle and Sprinkle does have other Hat Ladies that would work (also offered as digi stamps): </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Stay tuned for more information on the tea, like the menu and recipes.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I would like to enter my card into the following challenges </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Hello, blogging friends.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">One of our blogging-paper-crafting-friends, <a href="http://www.suestamping.com/2014/06/just-note.html" target="_blank"><b>Sue Drees</b></a>, recently shared some sad news.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Her sister fell on June 22, and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. On June 25, the tumor was successfully removed. However, the biopsy brought back devastating news - a fast growing Brain Cancer. Sue's sister is determined to fight this all the way. She began physical rehabilitation on July 4.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Sue and her sister Edith live in the North East (USA). Sue and her husband transport Edith's husband to the hospital each day and check up on changes and quality of care.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">While Sue did not ask for help, we've kept in touch with her and asked if Edith would enjoy receiving cards of encouragement and support.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Sue was so grateful that the on-line community might help in this way - it was something she had not considered.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Edith enjoys Quilting and LOVES flowers! Edith's beloved fur child is a little pug, and both miss each other very much.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Will you please consider sending a note, tag, or card (or two or three? LOL) offering encouragement? Edith valiantly fights other illnesses in addition to this new challenge. She is a very courageous soul.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Cards can be sent addressed to Edith c/o Sue and she will take them daily to the hospital.</span><br />

Have you noticed that your friend's <i>adult children</i> are now having babies? <b>How old does that make us???</b> We have just heard of 3 sweet bundles of joy arriving this past week. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I did find a baby boy card in my stash. Yippee! </span></span>Looks like I will be doing a CAS card for the remaining 2 baby girls cards. Here is what I came up with:</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhynQ5RkzSyQpJ2WmC9CF9DEabw2eKY7tTj5ir3Sz2DR09JiuycLQre0Iirdl9pmE7GbXbwvi8ZK48VCqxBK3NmXeymYaZNB454rXuFvoNGnbNVfsakeef2m0UBkGh0jW0umPeVPVJhdhAG/s1600/2014+baby+girl.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhynQ5RkzSyQpJ2WmC9CF9DEabw2eKY7tTj5ir3Sz2DR09JiuycLQre0Iirdl9pmE7GbXbwvi8ZK48VCqxBK3NmXeymYaZNB454rXuFvoNGnbNVfsakeef2m0UBkGh0jW0umPeVPVJhdhAG/s1600/2014+baby+girl.JPG" height="640" width="594" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I started out by using two coordinating double sided designer papers, one with polka dots and one with wavy lines. </span><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">The wavy paper is 4-1/4 X 5-1/2. </span>Dotted
paper was cut 4-1/4 X 7, then scored at 5-1/2, folded over and taped
onto the dotted one. Both paper edges were inked with coordinating
ink color. I found this adorable ribbon in my stash and added it to the
top using glue dots.</span> <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Perfect little girl vibe going on so far. Side note: the card was supposed to be <i>PINK, </i>but the paper is really more peachy in color. I guess that works for little girls, too?</span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Next, die cut a scallop circle from the DP and ink the edges. This sweet little bird delivering the sparkly bundle is from a Unity mini set called "Birdie Told Me". She was stamped on white paper, die cut, colored and glittered with stickles. I also added stickles to the outside edge of the circle. The sentiment on the front is from an older Stampin Up set.</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">The sentiment on the
inside is a from a clear stamp set by Cloud 9 Design called Simple
Thoughts-Baby. I just added the little silver charm using a brad before
adhering the layer to the card base.</span></span> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">This card only took about 30 minutes to make and the hardest part was waiting for the stickles to dry! </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I am happy that I was able to get all three cards out in the mail today. Feels good to get something accomplished.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Well, I had intentions of submitting this card to some challenges, but alas there just wasn't enough time. Maybe the next one. </span></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Have a wonderful day and thank you for taking the time to stop by!</span></span><br />

I took a class at a local stamp store and became intrigued. Next I went online and eventually found <a href="http://circleofcrafters.com/irisfolding/patternofthemonth.html" target="_blank">Circle of Crafters</a>, There are many FREE patterns on this site as well as directions on how to create an iris fold .<br />
I have a friend who loves anything to do with water. She even named her first son after a TV show character from the show, "Flipper". (If you remember that show, you are showing your age!!!) Sooo, I figure a dolphin card! Here is the first try with the free <a href="http://www.circleofcrafters.com/irisfolding/irisfoldingdolphin.html" target="_blank">dolphin pattern</a> downloaded from Circle of Crafters. Trace it onto paper and cut out by hand. I liked this crinkle turquoise paper for the cut out layer and then chose 2 different blues for the iris folding. Next it is layered on a corrugated paper that somewhat reminded me of waves. <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLifnSWRmrm6kvWEBSVMwgX9x4iLl0zVP7EIDTOF3Uu5LMrcVVryG7Gjjpo4zckMoOlut-CnT2XYUV-CB1S4l1PwcInHdg_iQ8qYhMWx74LJ_U7f5jqyAmtKOb0mKCMuamuerjDsXVbo9a/s1600/Blue+dolphin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLifnSWRmrm6kvWEBSVMwgX9x4iLl0zVP7EIDTOF3Uu5LMrcVVryG7Gjjpo4zckMoOlut-CnT2XYUV-CB1S4l1PwcInHdg_iQ8qYhMWx74LJ_U7f5jqyAmtKOb0mKCMuamuerjDsXVbo9a/s1600/Blue+dolphin.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Blue paper dolphin</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Next I used the same crinkle paper to cut out the dolphin, but placed it at a different angle on the paper. Then I chose a thin (text weight) silver paper for the iris folding. I do like how this dolphin looks although it does not showcase the iris folding as much as the first one above.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuMVv0uUE4pHYwo4thTOUZFpuOk_M52LCIkbw5tX7j2rLwkD0IcRYVESTdgFSFNuIF1UULFqn0NHMLS3rs_EPEIPSNS2L4218GkxvI2JrIDCYc6wxQP1DawfuHYSqV6QwwfITgXMXE5ZyB/s1600/cards+330.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuMVv0uUE4pHYwo4thTOUZFpuOk_M52LCIkbw5tX7j2rLwkD0IcRYVESTdgFSFNuIF1UULFqn0NHMLS3rs_EPEIPSNS2L4218GkxvI2JrIDCYc6wxQP1DawfuHYSqV6QwwfITgXMXE5ZyB/s1600/cards+330.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Silver dolphin</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Well, I liked the dolphin in silver, but wanting the iris fold to show up more, I used 3 different silver papers. If you click on the picture, you will see the different papers. One paper is a tissue paper (very thin and a little difficult to work with), one is textured and much thicker (also hard to work with), and then a metallic cardstock. What do you think?<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFGnvDPzjPgNjhQwCfaD8GV62AXtugiW2ySdR8-oSSX7HRM9jkSd3qhyphenhyphend-UXZZL2UVIwUe56GvV6O9o8Gj-61i3DHwgxFgVAbaSrjuysbxJDbdh1x34vAvfeDHwSjcAkbDXNcFaJtdBW-N/s1600/2+tone+silver+dolphin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFGnvDPzjPgNjhQwCfaD8GV62AXtugiW2ySdR8-oSSX7HRM9jkSd3qhyphenhyphend-UXZZL2UVIwUe56GvV6O9o8Gj-61i3DHwgxFgVAbaSrjuysbxJDbdh1x34vAvfeDHwSjcAkbDXNcFaJtdBW-N/s1600/2+tone+silver+dolphin.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Three silvers dolphin</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
So now I want to experiment with a different paper to cut out the dolphin shape, and I chose a water printed paper which I think is from Michael's or JoAnn's. I came up with another paper in my stash.....a white on white striped text weight paper (it shows up looking silver here, but click on the picture and it should look more white). Sorry, but I do not remember where this paper is from. This dolphin may be my favorite! And this is the one I eventually sent to my friend.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXi7jNr__shSVxR4EaTpEuXrVCUR_w6_3AhlkE4w4cvMbVBYDXh3Aem4TXSkNijPXeVXi2aSkWGITvqXDlNWYzhIGBjsuNYaNl6aSr81gglqCC8Sc3nVRZ903BkAg2NdMYJGOV_8QfO4-J/s1600/Silver+dolphin+water+paper.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXi7jNr__shSVxR4EaTpEuXrVCUR_w6_3AhlkE4w4cvMbVBYDXh3Aem4TXSkNijPXeVXi2aSkWGITvqXDlNWYzhIGBjsuNYaNl6aSr81gglqCC8Sc3nVRZ903BkAg2NdMYJGOV_8QfO4-J/s1600/Silver+dolphin+water+paper.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">White striped dolphin on water-print paper</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
One more try, keeping the same water paper base, but now changing up the iris fold papers. Most of the iris fold patterns I've seen usually use 3 or 4 different colors/patterns of papers, so here is my dolphin done that way. <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFeEO5KUdqnwhRvP8PtS8jasdDlbwMRd4jfv3qoRv8Of6IbD6FEXa37WOWVaTCLl85armAuMlYRckpbUUdVCWgSKScoOKobm-ivJrNoHsSLvTjR6VfNFvMrboM5zmjN4bVpEF-13RwumHj/s1600/cards+335.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFeEO5KUdqnwhRvP8PtS8jasdDlbwMRd4jfv3qoRv8Of6IbD6FEXa37WOWVaTCLl85armAuMlYRckpbUUdVCWgSKScoOKobm-ivJrNoHsSLvTjR6VfNFvMrboM5zmjN4bVpEF-13RwumHj/s1600/cards+335.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Multi-color dolphin</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Lastly, the center of your iris fold will usually have a small space. Many times I've seen a small piece of holographic paper placed there. I love hearts and thought it was neat to place a heart brad there for some of my dolphins.<br />
<br />
Well I also needed to send a baby card to my son's childhood friend and kept going with iris folds. Looking at the Circle of Crafts site, I found the <a href="http://circleofcrafters.com/irisfolding/irisfoldingbabycarriage.html" target="_blank">baby carriage</a>. She was having a girl, hence the pink carriage. She thought it was a really unique card. <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhprq83ptM8CAKbqgrr6j2BK7Sk2UodeCE3Xcack_0-fLnVqCaanyBjN9bzR1EesCzB4AH8fEsIuaITf0IdOi0SmmMZSW6rMjKrfcoja9eAg2nqrEflYoVGxble_RRG1xGBVdxsM9MmuwI7/s1600/Iris+fold+Carriage+for+Kim.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhprq83ptM8CAKbqgrr6j2BK7Sk2UodeCE3Xcack_0-fLnVqCaanyBjN9bzR1EesCzB4AH8fEsIuaITf0IdOi0SmmMZSW6rMjKrfcoja9eAg2nqrEflYoVGxble_RRG1xGBVdxsM9MmuwI7/s1600/Iris+fold+Carriage+for+Kim.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Pink iris fold baby carriage</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Did you notice that I used ribbon instead of folded papers for the iris parts? I really like using the ribbons......it is faster for sure. Hope you give iris folding a try.<br />
<br />
See you again soon!<br />

<span style="color: magenta;">Today's card is the one I made for my <u>only</u> granddaughter, so I HAD to do it in pinks.....its my one chance to do girly! I decided back in Florida some of the details and punched out a Martha Stewart butterflies edge punch from glossy white paper. Also decided that I wanted to make an easel card. Then a friend from my online stamping group was showing us how to use peel off stickers on sticker paper and she had an extra sheet of cupcakes......perfect. Brought all of it here and this is the result.</span><br />

<span style="color: magenta;"><span style="background-color: white;">Found some cute pink flowered paper at Michael's and layered it onto pink card stock, then used a corner rounder punch. Inked the edges of both papers. The "happy birthday" is from a different sticker pack which is placed on a strip of pink with inked edges. <div>
<span style="color: magenta;"><span style="background-color: white;">The best part of any birthday party is the cake, right? This one is yummy looking with all of its glittery goodness. The black outline sticker was put onto 2-1/2 inch double sided <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=5224" target="_blank">Terr-ific Tape</a> from Sparkle N Sprinkle (SNS). Next, pour on the <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=23_224&products_id=5940" target="_blank">Cloud Nine Velvet Glitte</a>r, rub it in and shake off the excess. Now use your Copic markers to color it in over the glitter. SNS has a tutorial on its website showing how to do this Velvet Glitter technique<a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/techniques_detail.php?title_keyword=Alcohol_Inks_on_Velvet_Glitter" target="_blank"> here</a>. This cupcake only had one candle, but my granddaughter was two, so I added another from the sticker page before glittering. When done coloring, remove the other protective layer from the tape and apply to some heavier weight paper; then cut around edges. I used another one of those action wobble springs to attach the cupcake to the front of the card (see my last post for the Car Card). Isn't it shiny??</span></span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: magenta;">This is the cupcake sticker from Elisabeth Craft. The "white" one is what was left after I removed the actual sticker. You can see one candle sticker on the lower right that I also used. There are 4 more cupcakes here to use, plus another one that is missing (I have glittered it and it is ready to use), so you get 6 cupcakes on one sheet. Can you see that there are some smaller stickers that can be used as well?</span><br />

Well he just turned 5, but he has played with hot wheels since he could pick one up. And Disney's "Cars"!!!! Well, he LOVES it. I have done the Disney thing, so this year it had to have a little 'different' take on the same old theme. LOL And since he now lives in Canada it takes forever for mail to get there, so I also am going 'different' for me with more of a CAS card. Oh boy!</span><br />
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Arial;"></span><br />
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Arial;">So what to do with a car? I had heard about a "wobbly" thing that makes an item jiggle around. And I have a friend who tried making one (and she said it took way to long to get it right). Well I found the <span style="color: red;">thing </span><span style="color: blue;">at a chain store here in Illinois called Archivers.</span></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: blue;">They come in a pack of 6 and it has a plastic concentric circle that has sticker paper attached on both sides. Very easy to use. For my purposes, I has to cut down the stickers because my image was small.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="color: blue;">I had purchased a clear stamp set at Michael's just for this occasion (sorry I do not remember who the set is by, but when I get back to Florida I can let you know if you would like to email me). The set comes with the checkerboard and all that you see here. I stamped the car two times and fussy cut one of the images to pop up and wobble. For the fire, I used a marker to ink that part of the image. And that's it! Clean and simple, right? Oh yeah, the wobble. All I had to do was cut the adhesive area smaller to fit the car and there you have it.</span><br />

It is a really easy technique, but does require some drying time. I have never tried heating them with an embossing gun to speed up drying, so if you have tried it, let me know how it works!<br />
<br />
I chose this napkin because it reminds me of where I'd like to be <strong><u>every day</u></strong> -- relaxing on the beach. I only can hope that it gives my friend a warm fuzzy! And here is the card I made for my long time friend's birthday (Germaine).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9Fj41LpSbV5CljMXxv6txn_z9ZoTnxpQf5OvnQbYDKc8U67U9bnvCJcgrSfcctek7qXQtMMMijb6hzmCu8RL2Ms5NNtUXUL4hpxwMtCVRCkUZr-CGyTrau6BFxtmNFXPxrpiFSfIVhvIC/s1600/G+napkin+front.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9Fj41LpSbV5CljMXxv6txn_z9ZoTnxpQf5OvnQbYDKc8U67U9bnvCJcgrSfcctek7qXQtMMMijb6hzmCu8RL2Ms5NNtUXUL4hpxwMtCVRCkUZr-CGyTrau6BFxtmNFXPxrpiFSfIVhvIC/s320/G+napkin+front.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Begin by separating the napkin layers until you have only the top, colored layer. Apply ModPodge over a piece of cardstock with a brush, then place the napkin with color side up and spread ModPodge over the napkin. (I used a sponge brush--really cheap). When it is all covered, set aside to dry. Be sure that you have 2 of the same images on your napkin piece, or else do two napkins. That way you will have images to pop up.</span> And don't worry about wrinkles in the paper......it really looks neat that way.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4eQH5U8_aS8JITE9EneWPp1CFTm1dYUWovLGzUah-3y-_a9AUUc4TQcdfZuv21nLdsxK_4xPs9f8hLXbRI_9TnfpVhGZaKic2X-gTg3hfvGRbZ_B2s8XPosHAr1OC51uOK3sJ-GpelaSu/s1600/G+napkin+closeup.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4eQH5U8_aS8JITE9EneWPp1CFTm1dYUWovLGzUah-3y-_a9AUUc4TQcdfZuv21nLdsxK_4xPs9f8hLXbRI_9TnfpVhGZaKic2X-gTg3hfvGRbZ_B2s8XPosHAr1OC51uOK3sJ-GpelaSu/s320/G+napkin+closeup.jpg" width="293" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">After the pieces are dry, simply cut to the desired size, ink the edges, mat onto another piece of cardstock and tape to the card front. Then cut out some of the smaller images to raise up with pop dots. The modpodge really makes the napkin stiff and easy to pop.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;"><span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: blue;">You will have lots of fun finding beautiful napkin scenes for your cards. I look after holidays when they go on sale. Or use coupons! </span></span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">What are the hardest cards to make? In my opinion, it is a sympathy card. <span style="font-family: Times;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times;">As I told you last time, I do not have many supplies with me this summer so I brought some "leftovers" with me to use up. Here is another card using some leftover pieces:</span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgue9ZhAP6XOiY7YlmgJotj-uP424HL9JMHp_Kgqw_fjZgY-QN_aRVtzB8sowVJJ1EylK7wXfdEOIfVt6zy-2Of79AVqNpq44TPankLIj_IVzd7mzokERY5mYMfJfomsqufV-biJn4KaDM2/s1600/Toni+bday+2013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgue9ZhAP6XOiY7YlmgJotj-uP424HL9JMHp_Kgqw_fjZgY-QN_aRVtzB8sowVJJ1EylK7wXfdEOIfVt6zy-2Of79AVqNpq44TPankLIj_IVzd7mzokERY5mYMfJfomsqufV-biJn4KaDM2/s400/Toni+bday+2013.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Toni's birthday<br />
</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I had some glossy cardstock that was dry embossed with an embossing folder. I used a brayer to roll ink from the Kaleidacolor rainbow ink pad called Spectrum. Love this look which I learned from my former design teammate, <a href="http://shonasstampingstage.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Shona</a>. Cut to desired size and layered it on white paper. After that it was simple! I added the white ribbon with a thinner apple green ribbon to the middle, plus 3 half pearls.<br />
<br />
The flowers?? Those are dollar store sticker finds!!! (Thanks to my Florida friend, Gloria.) Yep, they are dimensional and really pretty. And you get quite a few for $1. What do you think????<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQQi-XQ_whLkKYwnV0cVGh1Ncrt9fB529Sf_xonMZ_iBu-bxNgow7VjBjpjrUfTcIaBz7GiFNpGbuekLvUCJhBk_UlCgZOAsv6Nwo-UYme2JqZpKoql4B0Wm8ZPbRDCxWtremi1OCmSL38/s1600/Sticker.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQQi-XQ_whLkKYwnV0cVGh1Ncrt9fB529Sf_xonMZ_iBu-bxNgow7VjBjpjrUfTcIaBz7GiFNpGbuekLvUCJhBk_UlCgZOAsv6Nwo-UYme2JqZpKoql4B0Wm8ZPbRDCxWtremi1OCmSL38/s320/Sticker.JPG" width="232" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Added a couple of the smaller stickers to the inside sentiment (Heartfelt Creations). The writing uses a Sakura Glaze pen (these give a pretty color and sheen along with a little dimension). Will probably be using these more this summer since I am without most of my stamps. LOL.<br />

<span style="color: blue;">I have been away for awhile. Yes, life got in the way of my fun! I am back to show you a pretty simple card that is not too hard. It was done with alcohol inks and acetate. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy49stiN-_a77HR8Vros7P8CZUSwBMOYiH9UFlI3z1j5j805M_mB0WaY9VcKbE73ekyac6-Z_vi-7UKI3m6Q-wMk36oSQgO3f4SXlJ1xAMSK6t2b5YcA8OJToAGB_mo14VrdIMdJ2hZZuK/s1600/Fish+Alcohol+Ink.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy49stiN-_a77HR8Vros7P8CZUSwBMOYiH9UFlI3z1j5j805M_mB0WaY9VcKbE73ekyac6-Z_vi-7UKI3m6Q-wMk36oSQgO3f4SXlJ1xAMSK6t2b5YcA8OJToAGB_mo14VrdIMdJ2hZZuK/s400/Fish+Alcohol+Ink.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: blue;">I did this card at a friend's house a few weeks ago (we each bring a design to share and this card design belongs to Carrie -- Thank you), so I do not remember colors and I also do not have stamp or die cut names. S O R R Y. Just wanted to share the technique. You simply dab a few drops of 2 or 3 alcohol ink colors onto an applicator with white felt and then tap, tap, tap onto the acetate. Next add a drop or two of mixative and tap away again until you have the background you want. There is an excellent tutorial at the Splitcoast Stampers site <a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/alcohol_ink/" target="_blank">here.</a></span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHxDnDHXc6bKUb2j8Gh09ftJsG_YF_7GpS-05Sef6s98M5uiqaS8Mt-BQ8Q3KTkR-qEyRHtpL15sHjq4KyM8Im_F7VPjPahcn-vaO3WabKSD5RCWlxJwkpm5AmD0Cmquc7mn7pX9cL7plS/s1600/Seaweed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHxDnDHXc6bKUb2j8Gh09ftJsG_YF_7GpS-05Sef6s98M5uiqaS8Mt-BQ8Q3KTkR-qEyRHtpL15sHjq4KyM8Im_F7VPjPahcn-vaO3WabKSD5RCWlxJwkpm5AmD0Cmquc7mn7pX9cL7plS/s320/Seaweed.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: blue;">Die cut grass from green cardstock becomes seaweed that is taped under the acetate. You can tape the acetate (ink side down) onto the cardstock, or glue it as I did. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv-nzzHOYhdwTxpxlcFIGvq_qF4WldMsBYLX9xbGQn2PMlg6yPmt7M9BmlRjVIX2XyfnzWDpj-wyPUVAx0WJcs0R7lAw0aU4ia6vbFscGgkCbwPKkUc_UarMeG_I3_GgdYhYz5qQOgJaTy/s1600/Fish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv-nzzHOYhdwTxpxlcFIGvq_qF4WldMsBYLX9xbGQn2PMlg6yPmt7M9BmlRjVIX2XyfnzWDpj-wyPUVAx0WJcs0R7lAw0aU4ia6vbFscGgkCbwPKkUc_UarMeG_I3_GgdYhYz5qQOgJaTy/s320/Fish.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: blue;">And lastly, stamp the adorable fish using Black Stazon Ink on top of the acetate. White liquid pearl dots inside the stamped bubbles make them look so real! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: blue;">I hope you give this a try because it is fun and easy to do. I am sending this card to my best buddy, De, for an online group swap. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="color: blue;">Thanks for stopping by. See you all soon!</span></span><br />

I did just that a couple weeks ago. The fall colors were in full splendor and we had taken a trip up north to Door County Wisconsin. I made my hubby stop numerous times so that I could get some pictures of the glorious colors. I had a technique in mind that my dear sweet stampin' "seester", Shona, developed while designing for Sparkle N Sprinkle. You can go see her card and instructions on the Sparkle N Sprinkle page <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/techniques_detail.php?title_keyword=photos_in_cardmaking" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
I had a few birthdays in November and also needed a few thank you cards, so this is what I came up with.<br />
Begin by taking a beautiful picture and then punch one edge using an edge punch. Apply <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/index.php?cPath=25_76" target="_blank">Tear-ific Tape</a> (double sided tape) to the back of the punched area, turn it over and apply glitters or embossing powders to the top. Burnish in to holes, brush off excess and finish card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwDCWWFkMN8nlZwli5Kf9bFA4xpmqChHv62fLlvdBSmBl33bIzFgJVJILHqenF5M1MI_OAtlNO4yRAjv9BGc6s1GAjm02WaX8Az14fT9FSNMF8im3BUPScgpcnySGHgD3CZeox7gw19Msr/s1600/Thank+you+with+fall+pix.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="248" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwDCWWFkMN8nlZwli5Kf9bFA4xpmqChHv62fLlvdBSmBl33bIzFgJVJILHqenF5M1MI_OAtlNO4yRAjv9BGc6s1GAjm02WaX8Az14fT9FSNMF8im3BUPScgpcnySGHgD3CZeox7gw19Msr/s320/Thank+you+with+fall+pix.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Edge punch with embossing powders</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Here is the same picture that was printed in color and then again in black and white. The black and white picture has some color added with copic markers, then the border punch was used and this time I used glitter instead of embossing powder. I was going for a vintage/shabby look with the b + w picture by distressing the edges of the papers. Below you can see the difference between the vintage/shabby look and the more polished look. I apologize that the poor quality of card pictures doesn't show the b+w card very well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipAD4uYAkH6sn2xw2pokshY2N5CeBgb_De-06VJLu-WS2sIGnQ9SjZL-EdCSmITeYImWtD8d2Y7zJEU_1KzccVCd8pe7Kij1OuCZlUq8Ww30vY_mpXmQQ9fBtCQsnzt2SDIKhp3cMplzvN/s1600/B%252BW+vs+color+pix.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipAD4uYAkH6sn2xw2pokshY2N5CeBgb_De-06VJLu-WS2sIGnQ9SjZL-EdCSmITeYImWtD8d2Y7zJEU_1KzccVCd8pe7Kij1OuCZlUq8Ww30vY_mpXmQQ9fBtCQsnzt2SDIKhp3cMplzvN/s400/B%252BW+vs+color+pix.JPG" width="253" /></a></div>
<br />
The next card is simply one picture cut into 4 equal parts. Then take a piece of paper that is slightly larger than the original picture and apply Tear-ific Tape around the outer edges, and down the center both vertically and horizonically. Remove the protective cover and place the picture pieces down. Now sprinkle on the sparkle n soft and rub into the tape to create borders around the picture pieces. Finish card.<br />

One last card using a photograph with a punched edge that was glittered. This is a legal envelope sized card.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Thank you card using photograph</td></tr>

<br />
That's all for today. Hope that you have gotten some ideas and will try them out.<br />
<br />

I always send all the children in the family a card so I need a few of them. lol After spending lots of time of the ones I posted previously, I was ready for some easier ones.<br />
<br />
Here we go. These two cards were done with those plain wooden cutouts you see at Michael's or JoAnn's. Purchased last year for 10 cents each. I colored with markers and added glittery accents with glitter pens. All that was needed was some appropriate background paper, again bought on sale. I am guessing that these card only cost around 50 cents or less to make. Not bad!<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Wooden cutout</td></tr>

Next, I had this package of metal brads. Here is a house with 3 ghosts (all metal brads). Add them to some great designer paper and you have it. Guess I could have added some bling, but I needed to get them in the mail.....going out of state: <br />

<br />
The last cards were made using stickers (again on sale last year). These stickers are soooo cute. I really love them. This first one below uses the same designer background paper as above. Just add a couple of stickers and its as cute as a frog! LOL<br />

Two more cards using cute stickers. Add a fun paper. Super easy and
almost no stamping! Well, I did stamp the sentiments inside, I just
forgot to take pictures!<br />
<br />
<br />
Don't forget to go looking for all these fun things on sale the day after Halloween. Some may be on sale now, but they will be even cheaper afterwards. Happy shopping! <br />
<br />
Check in tomorrow for some cards made with photographs I have taken. I love doing this and maybe you will too.<br />
<br />

It's Halloween TimeOctober already, and I have hardly make a card in 4 months!!! What's up with that? Well, I finally got busy and made some cards for the grandkids and neices and nephews. Today I will show you the ones that are for my very special grandchildren.<br />
<br />
I started off with an idea from my dear friend, Paula. (Thank you, Paula) She and I met in Florida, but have lived close to one another in Illinois for a lot of time and didn't know it. She showed me a card in Cardmaker's magazine that she was making, and I liked it so much that I decided to do it too. Here is a page from the magazine that shows the directions to make the card:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCjd4B3YXEKYcthPzC6Uw_RY6y1KAXrOyWH_9tjIL9EdYX8SIoIondtfuMf3OBwoV1BYAoOmUHxZCXdumy9WwGa2iJUWw67mKnkFKRtYzrnrU7YESNk1PP8cDywcF9KcOGI844Pyal5299/s1600/2012+mag.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCjd4B3YXEKYcthPzC6Uw_RY6y1KAXrOyWH_9tjIL9EdYX8SIoIondtfuMf3OBwoV1BYAoOmUHxZCXdumy9WwGa2iJUWw67mKnkFKRtYzrnrU7YESNk1PP8cDywcF9KcOGI844Pyal5299/s320/2012+mag.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
So I bought the paper suggested and it was on sale. I also used some dimensional stickers I had purchased after Halloween last year (I will do this again, because I have used these goodies for the last 2 years). This first one uses pumpkins just like the magazine did. I added some extra stickers and a Martha spiderweb punch on the "belt" closusre:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW919Apc-G6wCcNNPLIkVAeqMPUqIzIvEFr-ET4qHbffZc4fJtHgAiPFDrAv8CjMNB-T9WjGGtnA50KQpgtUSjfcE5EfSuO8intC3cuDdIFRz-nwjnZnlltipXtGX33Jg7rSEAkXBAf3vZ/s1600/2012+CALEB+closed.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW919Apc-G6wCcNNPLIkVAeqMPUqIzIvEFr-ET4qHbffZc4fJtHgAiPFDrAv8CjMNB-T9WjGGtnA50KQpgtUSjfcE5EfSuO8intC3cuDdIFRz-nwjnZnlltipXtGX33Jg7rSEAkXBAf3vZ/s320/2012+CALEB+closed.JPG" width="215" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Pumpkin card closed</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA8ckT5HQPMSWyneeYI8_4guSIOzKR6OkAa5wvyDsnE-KFBOIiHbh76UYylz-IzD88UMsziAFTGsX9iXyGt6doujO3dBrX2q0GroZPridDzxnhzpIyrdoBk24FoG5vSvqYg_rliEnJJFb2/s1600/2012+Caleb+open.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA8ckT5HQPMSWyneeYI8_4guSIOzKR6OkAa5wvyDsnE-KFBOIiHbh76UYylz-IzD88UMsziAFTGsX9iXyGt6doujO3dBrX2q0GroZPridDzxnhzpIyrdoBk24FoG5vSvqYg_rliEnJJFb2/s320/2012+Caleb+open.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Pumpkin card open</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
The next one, was made using skeletons for my older grandson. The top image is a sticker that changes when you move it. The papers were from the suggested paper package. I cut out the skull and cross bones and put crystal effects over them to give them more dimension. The bats for the "belt" to hold it closed were from a package of precut glittery shapes that were 12" long (again bought on sale last year):<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Skeleton card closed</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOggvuzkr-HCfc42bbnn0akvqQKZyP063mcheedkS-70yttqPoEINHpr5x48cv0H0Ojpk4uPhr3QDt7_bTaPxgCQz79znX9HbSAjwhsU26bxPX_RQ7RBzw0M7Vl0-0sMbDF3FyKuPA9nIy/s1600/2012+Diego+open.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOggvuzkr-HCfc42bbnn0akvqQKZyP063mcheedkS-70yttqPoEINHpr5x48cv0H0Ojpk4uPhr3QDt7_bTaPxgCQz79znX9HbSAjwhsU26bxPX_RQ7RBzw0M7Vl0-0sMbDF3FyKuPA9nIy/s320/2012+Diego+open.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Skeleton card open</td></tr>

<br />
And the last one was for my only granddaughter, so I used a cute witch (she is pretty young, so I didn't want to scare her). All of the items I have added to the cards were from things picked up on sale last year:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Witch card open</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Here are all four cards (closed) together. I made 2 with pumpkins. They really look different even though I used the same layout:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnxg7YbjJxMCjxNQ0lqkOLLYqPgYBNPdVhD1S94umHgoiIG5wKHgGqnGU1HeBC596CFkvW0vcnacT7ZRYLyng_KZrUEfCNt1CPU9MC90cK5TIg9Fx2oNdwXrcrtkKbKP3B-L6kKoB4Dqte/s1600/2012+grandkids.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnxg7YbjJxMCjxNQ0lqkOLLYqPgYBNPdVhD1S94umHgoiIG5wKHgGqnGU1HeBC596CFkvW0vcnacT7ZRYLyng_KZrUEfCNt1CPU9MC90cK5TIg9Fx2oNdwXrcrtkKbKP3B-L6kKoB4Dqte/s320/2012+grandkids.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
I hope that you liked my versions of the card from Cardmaker's magazine. You should be able to find the magazine in stores like Michael's and JoAnn's<br />
<br />
Hope you have a frightfully fun Halloween. Tomorrow I will post some cards that I made that are more basic and have very little stamping.<br />

<span style="color: #b45f06;">Hello All,</span><br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;">Its been a long time between posts and I have missed cyberland. Life does get in the way sometimes, huh?</span><br />
<span style="color: #b45f06;">So anyway, I was fortunate enough to work at a stamp show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last weekend with <a href="http://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/" target="_blank">Our Daily Bread Designs</a>! It was a lot of fun and I got to meet lots of new people, including the owners of ODBD, Kelley and Rick! I was also working with another awesome lady who is on their design team, Lisa. </span><br />

I am calling it "Embossing X 2", since we will be using Embossing Folders and Embossing Powders. One of the cards is definitely masculine and the music themed one could also be for a guy. If you aren't loving some of the sayings I used, I usually bring one or two others......but you could always leave that part blank and add words when you need it. These are really versatile cards. Call Denise at the store (813) 269-7946 to sign up.<br />

It was nice to meet so many new faces at the all day crop last Saturday (and to also see some ladies I had met before.) Sorry that my voice was still recovering from laryngitis. It was my first all day crop and I had a lot of fun.<br />
<br />
For those of you that were asking for night and/or weekend classes, your request has been answered. I will be offering the "Napkins, Please" class again on Tuesday night, May 8th at 6 pm. (see details about the cards in the below post.) Hope this will work for some of you!<br />

I have had this one for quite some time and I know how to use it! lol Don't you hate having to learn how to use new equipment? I know I do. So for now I cannot post very much. I am hoping to snatch my hubby's when I go back up north soon for my granddaughter's christening. If I can use that one, I hope to be back up and running! Wish me luck!<br />

Just got finished teaching the Smokin Hot Card Class using soot stamping techniques. I have shown you two cards previously (see Feb. 19 post below) which were masculine cards done with soot and reverse soot stamping using the Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamp Set #285 - 1900 Cars. So I thought I'd show you the other two cards we made. <br />
<br />
First is color soot stamping. For this technique you first apply water based inks to the glossy cardstock and let dry. Then proceed as usual with sooting and stamping. Here is the card we did using this technique:<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMz9PSz9yi3IAk1D8aOWC1HMJjMCTaDDZUwND16AoUL-QGgmwuXtHoJ0HygVJR_VyNoXlihv3dcFtZZjm6jtwCFnhCWJLBnM8_eN0HGR6iPajdK8hcF3JmH0xN14M4Z5Y0a_amJzcd8tc7/s1600/Color+Soot+Tent+Topper.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="309" lda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMz9PSz9yi3IAk1D8aOWC1HMJjMCTaDDZUwND16AoUL-QGgmwuXtHoJ0HygVJR_VyNoXlihv3dcFtZZjm6jtwCFnhCWJLBnM8_eN0HGR6iPajdK8hcF3JmH0xN14M4Z5Y0a_amJzcd8tc7/s320/Color+Soot+Tent+Topper.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">SNS Set #316 Elements</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
This is a tent topper card. I used Petite Scallop Circle Large S4-115 to cut out the sooted image of Floral butterfly circle from <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=3261" target="_blank">Stamp Set #316</a>. This was the class' favorite card, even though many of them came to class specifically for the masculine car cards. LOL.<br />
<br />
Next, we did soot stamping onto precolored glossy cardstock. Glossy cardstock comes in many different colors, but I chose a yellowish gold thinking it would show up better with the soot.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">SNS Set #160 Butterflies</td></tr>

This is a gate fold card with a "belt" closure around the center. We used one butterfly stamp from the <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=2317" target="_blank">Sparkle N Sprinkle Set #160 Butterflies</a>.</div>

So I hope this has given you some inspiration! I am having company coming and going for the next 2.5 weeks, so not sure how often I will get to post. I will try to get something up at least once a week, so check on back. See you soon!</div>
